Monkey Bread: aka Pleasure Spiked with Pain*

I'd really like to say something witty, or clever, or coherent here. But as I took this monkey bread out of the oven I let the weight of the pan land on my wrist and must have let it sit there 5 0r 10 minutes, and now the pain in my left wrist left me barely able to rip a hunk out of this bad boy and shove it in my face.
It also made me utter phrases that rhyme with "other trucker", and "muckity muck muck". (hope my crude language doesn't shock you too much)
Good thing my little monkies were at Grandma's. But I think they would have enjoyed this; and my son would probably have laughed at me. He enjoys seeing others in pain, what can I say?

This would probably be a good thing to have the kids help make since it's easy as pie. Just shake some biscuit pieces around in a bag with cinnamon and sugar, put them in a bundt pan with some walnuts, and pour the butter and brown sugar on top and bake. (the real recipe is linked above) And maybe they could remind you to be careful with hot surfaces.

*Name that song and you'll win a big bag of absolutely nothing!

This makes me think of that Foo Fighter's song that always makes me think of monkey bread and that always makes me think of my ex-husband. Thanks for ruining my freakin' day.

Sorry about your wrist - this sure looks good, very impressive looking too!

That looks really good. sorry you got hurt. I once knew a lady that made monkey bread and she refused to share the recipe because it was a family secret. Monkey Bread is good, but I really thought her family needed to have a better secret than that.

You have made me ravenously hungry.

And I'm sorry you hurt your wrist. Good things the kids weren't around to hear the colorful language. hehe

Nothing like a Red Hot Chilli Pepper song to brighten your day! (I am from SoCal and saw them in small clubs a looooong time ago!) Love Monkey Bread, reminds me of rainy days and missing school!

It must be in the stars this year - I have burnt myself but good twice! The one on my foot (yes, I dropped roasted butternut squash on my foot right out of the oven) has finally got real skin on it. The words I uttered rhymed with sock ducker other mucker witch. Dang it really hurts after the initial realization!!

I'm just amazed at all the good cooking that goes on at your house.

LUCKY FAMILY! My family would wonder where their mom was if I cooked like you. :)

Have a great day.

I didn't know the Foo Fighters wrote a song entitled "Lookit Here Comes Dumbass Brien Eating Some Monkeybread".

But I don't know much about music.

Are you KIDDING me! And it uses Grand's bisquits? Monkey bread is one of my favorites, but I have never personally made it because of the "monkeying" around with the dough making. I could totally do this!
