Then the yummy beans...they're just not very photogenic. They can't help it. I had some leftover shredded pork and threw that in there while they were cooking...turned out really good. I'm such a Pioneer Woman slut.
Man...if I had this meal with some fried potatoes, and the fried chocolate pies I made a few months ago, I would seriously think the clock had turned back thirty years. Which would be a little freaky but it's worth it for fried chocolate pies.
Yummy! And I already had dinner ... LOL. Awesome job :)
ReplyDeleteYummy!!! Thanks for stopping by my blog and for welcoming me :) I follow you :)
ReplyDeleteOh yum! I think we must have been raised on the same kind of food. Do you sometimes call the cornbread a corn pone? Maybe that's just a Kentucky thing.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me hungry!
ReplyDeletethanks for stopping over!
Oh, yum.
ReplyDeleteI'm such a boring cook at this house.
Sandra

ReplyDeleteNow that is some down home good comfort food there girl. Don't apologize for the beans, they know that they have inner beauty, and that is what is most important.
ReplyDeleteI love beans and cornbread. This is like the ideal meal.
ReplyDeleteHey There Julie!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for stopping by my blog and for the nice SITS welcome!
Yep...my nest is full again and that makes me very happy. I usually have my four and several of their friends. I just love having the house full!
Anyway...I look forward to getting to know you better and again thank you for the nice welcome!
P.S. the beans look YUMMY...Have you ever tried the 15 bean soup? I have the recipe on my blog...they are sooooooo good!
I love cornbread, I've been using a recipe from everyday food lately that's quite good.
ReplyDeleteThanks for welcoming me to the SITSahood. The cornbread looks yummy.
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to take the beans. Looks good to me.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so good, I adore beans and cornbread! I'm off to find out what fried chocolate pies are!
ReplyDeleteAwesome...but no sugar cornbread...why not!
ReplyDeleteI dunno, my mom just didn't like it, so I grew up thinking it was wrong. I'm okay with it now, after intense therapy.
ReplyDeleteMy dad gets so mad when I cook Jiffy Corn muffins instead of "real" cornbread with a cast iron pot with melted sizzling shortening and homemade NO SUGAR ALLOWED cornbread...I like it both ways.
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not the only one that can top off just beans for dinner LOL
