Strawberry Shortcake: It's What's For Dinner

Wow, I haven't posted in a whole week...what have I been doing? Beats the heck out of me but I guess it didn't involve a whole lotta cooking.
I felt like having a little strawberry shortcake on biscuits tonight. Just made up a regular biscuit recipe and added a bit of sugar. I thought it was scrumptious! If I remember correctly that's the way Steak and Shake made their strawberry shortcake. I kinda miss them sometimes. (mmm! chili 3 way!)
We also had Ida Garten's Chicken Piccata. It looks kinda boring but that lemon sauce is lovely. And that would be Rice a Roni pasta it's served on.

    I haven't posted in about a week either. I seem to be having the cooking blahs. I love the biscuit version of strawberry shortcake and yours looks yummy. I think strawberry shortcake qualifies as a great breakfast tomorrow, right?? I mean biscuits are breakfast food and so are strawberries : )

    OOH that looks yummy! That last one with the beans and rice looks even better, and it's too late at night to start getting hungry!

    Ewww, not a fan of Steak n Shake. But the lemon piccata is a whole other story. It doesn't look boring to me!

    And that shortcake! Ah!

    Love strawberry shortcake.. have just made some this past week. Lemon piccata beforehand sounds fantastic. What a terrific meal!

    That's a good lookin' strawberry shortcake! I prefer my shortcake biscuit-syle, rather than on the "spongy cake".

    And I also serve Rice a Roni or other packaged pasta mixes as a side to an otherwise from scratch meal. It's all about the short cut!

    Mmmmm strawberry shortcake is so good. I made a strawberry pretzel salad on Sunday...it didn't last very long. :(

    Shortcake is one of my most favorite desserts; I'll even order it in a restaurant over fancier desserts. Chicken picata...yummmmm
