Desperation....

It's never a pretty thing. The longing, the craving...gnawing at you like a...umm...beaver?
I was wanting some more of those chocolate oatmeal no bake cookies in a bad way. But lots of reasons not to make them. First of all, last night I just about made myself sick on them. Secondly, not enough oatmeal.
So I got to thinking....what if I just had something that tasted like those cookies? Just a little something. Not a whole batch of cookies that I'll just scarf down alone while my children are at grandma's and the hubby's snoring in the other room. Then I came up with this....
Looked kinda pretty in the bowl. Pretty much the same ingredients just made differently. But what I wound up with was....
A bowl of chocolate oatmeal. Not quite what I had in mind, to be honest. But might be okay for breakfast....assuming I want a bowl of sugar-laden, artery clogging (there's a lot of butter in there) gloppiness.
Hopefully I'll have something else to post soon to cover up this mess.

  1. You might would have been better off with some saltines topped with butter, brown sugar, and chocolate. I'm just sayin'.

  2. You will figure something out. Hang on to it in the refrig of course until you get more oatmeal.

  3. "sugar-laden, artery clogging" oatmeal sound kind of contradictoray- lol.

  4. Oh my! That's funny. My husband and I got desperate for a snack once when we were first married. We decided to make funnel cakes using our fry daddy (remember those things) and pancake batter. That doesn't really work, very heavy and greasy and stomach-ache inducing.

  6. I actually do really love chocolate oats. I have that every night before I sleep! With a huge spoonful of AB and some crushed walnts and peanuts!

  8. Love the idea of oatmeal, albeit a deconstructed cookie. That's why I limit how often I bake. I'd eat it all, without any shame but tons of guilt afterwards.

  13. LOL, I've done that a time or two. The only thing is it winds up not satisfying my craving and then I cave. Which means I've eaten twice the amount I would have had I just made what I wanted. Yeah, no self control! :(
