I haven't really followed football this year, but I was hoping the Cardinals could pull it off. But no. The Steelers won the superbowl. Woohoo. There's something we haven't seen before. Seriously, congrats to them. Hopefully this is the beginning of good things for the Cardinals.
Then there was this.
There's just no excuse for this cheesy gloppy mess. This was the only pic I had a chance to snap cause I was in a hurry to leave. Just as I was singing the praises of Rachael Ray, she disappoints me with this monstrosity.
Honestly, I've never had fondue before. But I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to take the piece of bread you dunk in it and swallow it down like a bunch of quicksand. And the flavor didn't thrill me either.
And it made me waste most of these.
Does anyone have a recipe I can make out of leftover bread chunks, kielbasa, and baby carrots?Oh well maybe someday I'll get to have real fondue, and one of my teams will finally win the big one.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I don't know if blogging will make you popular :), but I'll follow anyone who will do the cooking for me.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks yummy!
Oh bummer...maybe stuffing? Why did that happen?
ReplyDeleteCarrots - coleslaw? Carrot and nut salad? Carrot cake?
ReplyDeleteBread - bread and butter pudding (english classic traditionally made from left over bread). Or made into croutons, or breadcrumbs.....
Shame about the fondue. I knew the chocolate fondue would have been better.......
You header photo is gorgeous. An Australian was playing with the Cardinals so I was keen to see them win too. As for the fondue - I have never had fondue and not sure I would like it. Personally I would prefer melted chocolate and just dip fruit in it - Good luck with finding a better recipe - what about Martha's website - she is a bit more reliable no?
ReplyDeletePS Just read James' comments now there is a man I like - chocolate fondue!!
carrot cake and bread pudding...those are ideas that could work :)
ReplyDeleteGirl, I believe I told you earlier the Steelers were going to win! LOL. You just weren't rooting for the right team.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about the fondue. (And the loss.)
I know! You can make croutons out of the bread and use the kielbasa and carrots in a big pot of vegetable soup.
ReplyDeleteYeah, but my dtr was cheering for the steelers...little traitor.
ReplyDeleteCroutons! That's a great idea too :)
The game was bad, but the food was good!
ReplyDeleteHugs and Mocha,
Stesha
I think you should turn the bread into croutons and chop up the kielbasa into small pieces and then add them and the carrots to a big green salad - voila! Can't wait to read more of the recipes on your blog. Thanks for stopping by mine :)
