Chicken Soup for the Snotface Soul

I have the bubonic plague. I haven't really been sick for ages and forgot I don't enjoy it. Chicken and rice soup seemed to be the only way to go.
I don't really have a recipe as such, but I like my veggies chopped up tiny like so....

Throw it all in a pot with some broth, chopped chicken that is already boiled, whatever seasonings that are in front in the cabinet, and a couple handfuls of rice. Let it simmer with a lid on until all the veggies are tender and the rice is cooked (20-25 minutes).

Remember the wasted bread chunks from the stupid fondue? They made pretty nice croutons and were tasty in this soup.

Okay I've eaten my frickin soup, now I'm ready for the plague to go away.

  2. We are snotfaced around here too. That bubonic plague really lingers. Our soup of choice is Vietnamese rice noodle soup called pho. Hope you get to feeling better. Hope we do too.

  7. We've had the plague around here for nearly 3 weeks now. Black though, not bubonic. Took the girl to Urgent care today - sore throat, fever, strawberry tongue and red spots on her throat. Oh and a rash on her trunk. But her strep screen was negative so of course she doesn't have strep. I made them give her antibiotics anyway. Cause that's how I roll. Jackasses.
